Shunt Trip Required on Generator?

Generator supplies egress lighting and some non egress lighting and receptacle loads for a disaster center. Would a shunt trip breaker on the generator otput be required?
 
Since the generator supplies egress lighting then it should comply with Article 700. Why do you want a shunt trip breaker on the generator?
