This has happened before and I just dont recall how I resoved it. I use Milbank sockets because that is what is locally available. I have a bunch of hubs for those . On this job I internet ordered a Siemens meter/main for a good price only to find out my 2 inch hub bolt pattern are a hair off. Are there any other manufacturers that would interchange with Siemens ? (not readily available ) Thanks for any help.

Can you get Midwest hubs locally? I think they are the same pattern as the Seimens. It's been a while, but I've been in your shoes before. For some reason, Midwest sticks in my mind.

usehername,

I know in this area (Greenville, SC) HD carries siemens panels and the accessories (like a rain-tight hub). That being said, you might still be able to get them to order one for you (or they might have them in stock).

Thanks for the replies. There is a HD about 25 miles from me I will check into that. Midwest is actually what I have. It fits everything I use. Except Siemens....

I've been there before.....It's a conspiracy.
I don't know of any brands that interchange, although some may.

I just dont get it. You should be able to make purchase decisions based on the product. Because every manufacturer has decided to force you into using specific accessories you become a slave to what is available locally. My Father worked as a saleman for Sears and Robuck so as I was entering the constuction industry I bought a ton of my initial tools from Sears one of which was a 4 inch belt sander. The belt for it happens to be 4x21 inches. Every other manufacturer of a 4 inch belt sander uses 4x21 and 3/4 inches. If I need belts for that sander guess where I have to go... What is next RMC with different theads for each hub? BTW I will never ever ever purchase another tool from Sears. I donated that sander to a dumpster when I had to rent a sander to finish a job because the local Sears decided that the belts for that model should be special order only...Sorry for the rant.

I Know, I will get scolded for this. But, you said it was a hair off on the holes, It may void UL etc. But if it is a "Hair off" a rattail file will take care of it, if you would have a good seal afterwords. OK, moderator, scold me......:(

Dont think I have not thought of that. I bought three hubs today GE, Sq-D, and a Murray (no Seimens readily available) .If Monday morning one of those will not fit that socket I have no choice but to yank the Siemens box and install something else. I am out of time POCO comes midweek to move the drop.

I went through all of my old equipment laying around and these are the top flange (hole centers) of various brands.

Midwest.....2 5/8" square

Siemens....2 3/4" x 3" rectangular

Kearney, Durham, Milbank, and Square D.......2 1/2" square

I didn't have a GE, although I remember it being odd.

I've got (3) Siemens 2" hubs. PM me if you still need one.

Thank you for the kind offer HB . As it turns out one of the hubs this I bought over the weekend fits the Siemens socket. I think it was off a Murray shelf.
Problem solved. Thanks to all who responded .
