Electric signs are required to be listed. Take a look at 600.3
Light poles are not required to be listed, but must meet the requirements of 410.15(B)

I am currently researching the requirement for a "UL" approved pole on an installation in the Orlando area and the local electrical inspector is adamant about having these pole listed/labeled. I understand the requirements set forth by NEC Article 410 and I just printed out the entire 2006 White book looking for something that will keep me from having to replace the entire installation or keep from having UL field services come out to certify the installation. What are my options?
