What are these two boxes called?

I have always just called them semi-recessed communications terminal enclosures.
But I don't know if anybody else does.
If I find one that has TV or CATV or TEL embossed in the cover, I make it more specific.

If there's telecom inside, they're often called a Network Interface Box.

Pretty common MFG around here, the one on the bottom is obsolete, used in the 1960's & 1970's.

hm.... just curious....

a disconnect with labeling... solar on the roof?

second meter, and it looks like a service split
box under the panel.... EV charging with a different rate?

What are these two boxes called?

Depends on what's in the boxes. If it's Telecom, then it's a demarcation box. If it's electrical, I'd call the top one a recessed Hoffman box and the bottom one a recessed gutter.

As stated, if it's telecom or cable, it's your demarcation point ("demarc" for short) or NID: Network Interface Device.
