We have three interlock switches that we'd like to wire intrinsically safe. They are dry contact switches that we'd like to wire to ISR barriers. As long as this configuration meets the requirements of NEC 504.2, these can be considered simple apparatus. My question is on the "control drawing", NEC 504.10. I'm not clear if this is required for a simple apparatus. If it is required, does the manufacturer of the switch or barrier need to provide the control drawing? FYI, area of classification is Class 2, Division 2, Groups F & G.

Any non-incendive or IS device will have a control drawing that you need to comply with.

Not so with simple apparatus.

@JLFlex...
There should be a control drawing furnished with the ISB. You'll have to qualify the simple apparatus under 504.10(B) [2008 NEC].
