Hello everyone,

I just had a simple question about a schematic representation of a compressor motor. I am interested in the symbol in the attached image that appears on the common side (the symbol that looks like a square wave turned on its side). Can someone tell me what this symbol means?

Thanks!

It's a thermal cutout switch. As the motor temperature rises above it's setpoint, that switch clicks open and takes it off line until it cools down again.
