Connected to "GROUND" directly, yes, and via a #6 solid, if I'm not mistaken. I believe every pole with any device on it has an electrode.

But to "GROUND" only, I don't believe so. The SWER (Single-Wire, Earth Return) is rarely used anymore, and surely not in city and urban areas.

Imagine the current that would be placed on metallic water-supply systems if the neighborhood distribution did not include a grounded condcuctor.

Wanna bet these are leftovers from recent hurricane repairs? I did send a note asking for shipping costs to me out of curiosity.

If I do get one of those I'd be reluctant to tear into it though....although it would be cleaner and less smelly than dissecting on older one. :)
