While supplying the dry type transformer on site & due to the site requirements we had to take out the transformer box, it was a good chance to check the inner components, i was wondering how the 13.8/0.48kv 2500kva Delta-Wye DT transformer's delta wire is Single conductor 2 AWG ALUM, based on the NEC table 310.15(B)(7) it's fine but would that size withstand the 22000a short circuit on the primary, any feedback.

You also need to know the clearing time, not just the available fault current. You can do the calculations on page 5 of this document to find the withstand of your conductor for your fault clearing time.
