We have a single listed component (an Allen Bradley motor winding heater) installed in a Hoffman enclosure. Our client has requested that we list the device under 508A. We have the ability to do this but 508A states that it applies to assemblies of two or more devices, article 409 says the same thing. I have always worked under the assumption that it was acceptable to install a single listed device in an enclosure without the need for any additional listing. Does anyone know a code reference that could back me up on my ASSumption? Thanks in advance.
