I have been looking in UL508A and can't conclude if Single Motor Taps per NEC430.52(D) are allowed. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I don't have my code book candy but a quick Google shows that the section you referenced has to do with torque motors. I don't know what you mean by a single motor tap either.

Equipment installed per UP508A (typically some type of industrial control panel) is not subject the NEC. The NEC only applies to supply and field load wiring. The internal wiring is not inspected see 90.7

I don't know UL508 as well as NFPA 70, but I think he means NEC 430.53, not 52.

This is an area where it's important to distinguish between short-circuit and ground-fault protection and overload protection. Basically, one MCP can feed multiple sets of overloads - with listings and caveats etc. etc.

430.53(D) is for motor groups. This is covered in UL508a 31.4.
