single phase

Hi Everybody!! I just join this forum and it seem a very good one!!

I have a single phase motor ( 1 HP) 110 Volts with a 7.5 MF running capacitor, could I run this motor on a three phase supply by simply removing the capacitor and connecting the motor's terminals to a 110 V three phase power supply.

Can anyone help me?

No...you have a motor with one set of windings...a 3 phase motor has 3 sets of windings.
