single receptacle or duplex receptacle

I was told that we are not allowed to use a duplex receptacle for any circuits that go to a specific appliance location( microwave, refrigerator, washing machine) is this true? I have asked for a code article and have not received one yet. If it is true can you tell me where in 05 NEC.

I don't believe that there is any Code section that says that.

However, keep in mind the requirements of 210.23(A)(1).
