I'm doing a renovation and there is a sink 2' away from the panel. Is there a code standard on how far it needs to. If there is I need let the architect know now before I proceed any further. thanks for the help

Re: sink near elec panel

mcalpin, If the panel is facing the sink within the 24", then it must have an increased working space to 36" minimum in front of it.Width of working space must be 30". [110.26(A)(1)]

Also keep in mind that if this is a panelboard that the height to the top breaker handle can be 79" maximum from finished floor. Should Murphy's Law occur, to try and reach the disconnect may be a problem for some people if there is a nearby protruding counter-cabinet depth.

Your company should be the qualified electrical administrator to make that call. Do inform the architect though.
