Has anybody here ever worked with SIP Panels On the exterior walls?
What type of method have you used to feed the devices on the outside wall?
Can I feed over head ? MC or Pipe Spec
Can I feed under, Slab Work?
Which one is easier,faster. Pros` and Con`s?
SIP is and Engineered, pre Built wall with I think foam insulation?
Any Questions or comments Appreciated?
Thanks for your time?

All of the SIP panels I have done have been residential. They have chaseways built into them marked with a line on the outside of the panel usually at switch and receptacle height. For boxes I have used plastic cut in bracket boxes or metal cutins that are gangable. I have always just used NM as a wiring method.

they can be a nightmare, they are plywood over Styrofoam the walls are set in place with a 2x8 joining them, if the framer does not pre drill the channel where he joins the wall at the 2x8 the channels become worthless. Also the same problem when they put the top plate you have to drill the plate which is easiest before they put second floor joists and sheet it. Bid higher it will consume time. channels are usefull sometimes but you will have to cut with 4 inch holesaw to access intersections especially for swith locations.

I am bidding a job that specs In finish wall only use mc or emt, all expose conduit even in attic or mezzannie in imc or emt. So using mc in walls in the SIP is going to be harder than I thought. They also spec do not use gangable boxes for outlets or switches, they most be stamped or welded. I was planning to do slab work for all power circuit and feeders. I am gussing that the framers are going to be mad because they would have to cut the bottom plates on the outside walls, the stub ups might end up under a stud, what a nightmare.
