size grounding electrode

Does the code talk about sizing the grounding electrode for service conductors in parallel from the pad mount. I have looked at 250.66 note 1. Its not to clear to me. Is the more info somewhere am not looking? Can anyone comment?

You would use table 250.66 and simply add the circular mil area of the parallel conductor together and find the corresponding GEC in the table. For example:

2 sets of parallel 250 kcmil conductors

250 kcmil + 250 kcmil = 500 kcmil.

The table tells me that this would require a #1/0 Cu GEC.

Does that mean the grounding electrode never has to be larger than a 3/0 cu?
