Sizing a 120V to 24V transformer? Do I match Amps of Watts? I am passing 120V through the transformer to 24V thermostat then back through transformer to 120 Volt exhaust fan. (The thermostat is the inline switch to control the exhaust fan) ) if the 40VA transformer can handle 40W?, (V.A=W). The 24Volt @40Watts would handle 1.66 Amp) . But for the 120V load, (the 93 Watt load @ 120 Volt gives 1.3 Amps). Do I need a 100 Watt transformer or will the 40VA at 1.66 Amp do the work?
