Hello again,

I'm trying to work through this artical but I'm having some trouble understanding it. http://ecmweb.com/code-basics/characteristics-neutral-conductor

I have a detached pool house that I'm looking to run 2/0-2/0-1 Al urd converse cable to feed a subpanel. I'm looking to know if it alright that I run the reduced neutral or is it required 2/0-2/0-2/0 for everything? I'll most likely fuse it with 70 amps but want the option should they ever need a full 100 amps.

What are your 120V loads? Add 'em up per leg. Your neutral conductor must be sized to handle the larger leg load but not smaller than the required EGC.
