I have a set of feeders (1 AWG, 3ph, 480V.) Traveling 540 ft. one direction. These feed a 480/208, 75 KVA X-former (lightly loaded though). The customer wants me to tap off the same 480V circuit at the end of the run, go into a breaker or fused disconnect, and run 2 AWG, 1ph 480V an additional 500 ft. to a 480/240 x-former for a 150A 240V panel.
I have been searching through art. 215, 220, and 225 to see if this application is acceptable. All I'm seeing though is that you have to do a load calc. on the existing before adding to it.
I'm wondering if I should down-size the transformers to more closely represent the load that is there.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
