I don't have my code book with me. I would like to install 60 amp, 240 volt circ. I plan on pulling 2 #6 THHN cu conductors, 1 #8 for the neutral, and not sure if a #10 for egc is ok or do I need to size it with the neutral. I thought the egc is permitted to be 2 gauges smaller than the hot conductors and the neutral one gauge smaller. Can anyone provide code reference on this? thanks.

Table 250.122 gives you minimum size egc you need based off the overcurrent device used. Basically a 60 amp breaker needs a #10 copper minimum as the egc.
