Sizing the neutral conductor on sub panel

I am running a 125 amp sub panel and I'm curious on where the code talks about sizing the grounded conductor. I will be using 2/0 aluminum for the hots. The panel will have mostly 240 volt loads so I'm not sure a minimum for the neutral. It will feed 240 volt circuits for a pool pump, hot tub, and a vehicle charger. The only 120 circuits will be a pool light and automatic pool cover. I know the hot tub will require a neutral too but just for the lights and controls I'm assuming.
Thanks

A neutral only has to be sized to meet the minimums required from a load calc. Anything more than that is up to you. I've ran NO neutral before and very small neutrals as well. On the order of several sizes smaller than the hots.

I was planning on running a #8 copper. I would think that would be plenty. I'll run #6 copper for the ground
