I was wondering if someone could help me figure out what the smallest size nuetral i can use for a 1600 amp generator?
To carry the maximum calculated neutral load current, or the same size as the required EGC.I was wondering if someone could help me figure out what the smallest size nuetral i can use for a 1600 amp generator?
I will have 4 sets of 600 mcm copper 3-phase going from the generator and according to table 250.102 adding all the conductors together is over the 1750 awg so then i have to take 12 and 1/2 percent of 2400 since there is 4 sets correct? so would the minumum be 300 awg?Welcome to the forum.

I am sizing the grounded conductor not the grounding conductor. If the generator has OCP and yu are dealing with a non-SDS system the equipment grounding conductor would be selected from 250.122
Does the generator have an OCPD? If so, then the minimum size of the grounded conductor will be based on table 250.122 per 215.2(B)I am sizing the grounded conductor not the grounding conductor.
