Just an example, for a 100HP 480v pump panel with a 250 amp main breaker, the service entrance wire is sized to the motor charts, correct? Regardless of the breaker size?

I'm looking at 230.42(A) and (A)(1). So a 100HP motor gives us 124A x 125%=155 amps. 2/0 wire? Thanks.

The breaker is sized to allow the motor to start, up to 250% typically of motor FLA. The motor branch circuit is typically sized at 125% of motor table. Some types of motors may have the BC sized larger.
