Skid mounted equipment grounding

My company is installing new flue gas scrubber equipment. Several of the larger pumps (1500-3500hp) are skid mounted. The contractor has grounded two diagonal corners of each skid to the ground grid with 4/0 solid copper conductor. My concern is that the 4kV motor frames are dependent upon the bolts holding them to the steel skid for an effective ground path. Is this something to worried about?

The connections to the grounding grid are optional.

The effective ground fault path is required to be run with the supply conductors.

Thats good, I think I will send back the 4/0 stranded at Woods Hole and have you run 4/0 solid around the generator.:D

Nice to know that we no longer need Stakons to connect 4/0 wires to receptacles and switches.
