I apply the general lighting demand factors for hospitals or motel rooms (NEC 2005 Table 220.42) to skilled nursing and assisted living bedroom units for lighting and receptacles.
The units have PTACS (5 kw) and 1500W Heat-Vent-Lites, but since there are not permanent cooking provisions, the above are not dwelling units.
I cannot find any allowances in article 220 of the NEC that allows a % demand reduction for these loads. In the past, I calculated these at 100% without any reduction based on the number of units. Is there a Code reference that allows diversity. Engineering judgement?
