SKM Batch Component Renaming

Is there a tool that exists to batch rename large amounts of components in SKM? How much would you be willing to pay for such a time and wrist saving utility?

I spend hours upon hours sometimes when a client decides to change a naming convention that impacts thousands of components. It's very frustrating.

No real easy way to get around. One option would be to export components to excel and rename. Then destroy your entire one-line. Import and expand pushing around one-line. I believe this would work, but would be equally as painful.

Because it is a database, I doubt it would be possible to do batch changes, although handy, not practical for the way the programs work.

On the other hand, if it uses a commercial database engine it should be possible to write an external database process to make and changes wanted. Just have to be sure you understand the schema so you don't break something.

And create a backup copy of your file before you start!
