Sleeves For Conduit

Why and were are sleeves used. I know you fireproof when passing through a fire rated wall but you don't need to use a sleeve.

Most gc's want you to use a sleeve were you have multiple wire assembles penetrating a fire rated wall.

it makes it easy for them to fill the sleeve with fire caulk we usually fill 3" conduit to 60percent.

In many cases sleeves through walls are not required but for some reason designers want them. Sleeves installed in pored concrete are a different story.
