Can anyone provide scholarship regarding the momentary withstand ratings of high voltage disconnect switches and insulators? The nameplate ratings and cantilever forces are based on 3-phase 1/2 cycle momentary RMS. But what if your highest fault value happens to be from a SLG fault, rather than 3-phase? How do you then evaluate the mechanical forces on substation equipment?
