I was wondering. What size font, font color, and background color do you find best when projecting for classes. I usually just use black font on white but am beginning to think this may not be the best.

I use a black font on a light green or light blue background. This is less tiresome on the eyeballs.
Should for some reason I use a dark color background I use a white font.

I try to always use 28 or larger font so those that like to sit on the back row can read the text.

I always print out the presentation with notes so I don’t have to turn my back to the crowd (never know when you might get shot in the back) and try to keep my computer turned so I can see what is being displayed.

The most common and recommended is blue background with yellow text, its the most readable.
Use Tahoma or Aerial font.
A serif font such as times new roman can be used for titles, its harder to read and makes the audience slow down a bit
Set your laptop in front of you and the screen behind you. Avoid or never turn your back to look at the screen. I use a remote control pointer and I can see the arrow on the laptop screen and can read off of the laptop if required
be consistant on your slides and design them for user ease.
Example I put a small year perhaps 18 point font in the upper right hand corner to indicate when a state code rule was adopted.

I have been using either a greeen or blue back ground. Seems easier on the eyes and no one falls a sleep. Yah right. White orange, or yellow for the font seems to work pretty good. White background is so bright. I also try and place a background of a photo I may have taken during inspections etc.. and adjust so that you can hardly see the image just for a change. Always face the class and I just use the slide as more a a memory jogger.
