Small Dental X-Ray Equipment

I am working on a dental clinic that has (2) small x-ray units that require 120 V, 20 Amp circuits and (2) units that require 220 V, 20 Amp circuits. The larger units show on their website that the load is 2.8 KW. My question is: Do these small units have to have a disconnect? I have not ever seen a dentist office in my area that has disconnects on these small units, but the Code seems to require them?

I don't have my code book with me, but if I remember correctly, an xray disconnect doesn't have to be located at the xray machine.

I believe the disconnect just has to be readily accessible from the control location. IMO, the circuit breaker in the panelboard feeding the unit would qualify as the disconnect. (Down the hall and inside the electrical room is still readily accessible as long as the xray operator has access to that room).

If the xray equipment is cord and plug connected, the plug would also count as the disconnect.
