Just curious, would a T8 ballast that had been installed connected to one system, say 277V, be installed on 120V and work properly? And back and forth?

I have actually never tried it, but theoretically, it should work.

I have an ADVANCE #ICN-4P32-SC unopened here. It is a Intellivolt 120v-277v. I'll open the package and see if there is anything in there, otherwise, check their site for any info

I know that this has failed to work on some exit lights we tried to reuse one time, but other than that never tried it.

When dual rated fluorescent ballasts first started showing up I ran across some that would latch to the 277 level and then you couldn't reverse them back to 120, but I haven't seen that in a long time now.

I agree with MACMIKE . They can be re-used to go to the higher voltage and will work. But once used on the higher voltage cannot be re-used on the lower voltage. When they first came out we retro-fitted a prison and it was low voltage, one day they had a lightning strike close by and about half the ballasts stopped working -- end result was from the manufacturer, that the ballasts latched on to the high voltage setting and would not work on the 120 normal supply anymore??? What! They had us change them all to 120 volt single voltage ballasts....

I have an experiment going on with these smart ballasts right now. I have them hooked up on 120, 208, 240, and 277. I started the experiment right before christmas. I want to let them burn at least 30 days, and then I am going to start swapping them around.
