Smart phone app from NFPA

Free is good, having the phone that does this one application is another.

Seems an end around to buying a book, but I'll confess that I don't have a cell phone that does this one application, nor understand how it'll work for those that do!

Here's the link that describes your OP link in a little more detail; NFPA.org

I have an app that has calculators, etc... for - box fill, motor flc, voltage drop, ohms law, conductor ampacity and size.
It's called Navaile Electrical Calculator, It does not cost any thing other then the monthly phone charge.

I just downloaded the necchanges app for the android. The permissions you have to accept seem a little extreme. Some are standard, but a couple prevented me from installing.

"This application can access:
-Your location- coarse location, fine GPS location
-Your personal information- add or modify calendar and send email to guests, read calendar events
-Network communication- full internet access
-Storage- modify/delete SD card contents
-Phone calls- read phone state and identity
-Hardware controls- take pictures (Really?)
-Service that cost you money- directly call phone numbers"

Edit: You can find this app in the android market place.

Thanks for the tip. I am downloading that right now, directly from the market place.

I installed this app on my Droid X and played with yesterday and today. IMO it's a waste of time. It's seems to be more of an advertisement for the NFPA and their products than a legitimate tool. For instance the sections of code are not the actual code change verbiage but a paraphrase of the change. Without the context of the original old code wording it's pretty hard to decipher what the change means.

Also each page has a number of sections in which you can scroll down to the bottom of that page. If you want to go on to the next group/page you have to click the tab at the bottom of the page. After you read a specific section you use the back button to return to what should be the screen that you just left, ah nope. It takes you all the way back to the first screen where you started. Very frustrating when you've scrolled to the bottoms of several pages and have to start over. I've uninstalled this app.
