smoke alarms going off

I recently did a retrofit job of replacing AC smokes with no battery backup in college dorms. We began to have troubles right away with them going off intermittedly. After calling the manufacturer, and doing some trouble shooting I found out that they are sharing neutrals with the fluorescent lights in the room. The circuit for the smokes is the emergency circuit, and the lighting is its own circuit as well, but they share the same neutrals. Does anyone know if a noise suppressor hard wired at the panel would help? Or any suggestions at this point would be helpful. The brand of smokes are BRK 9120.:-?

thanks

I would just swap them all out with new ones and see if that solves it. No sense in spending a days' labor tracking down a bad smokie.

Problem is they are not interconnected and almost all of them are going off, expecially when the lights are turned on.

You know I as well as some fellow contractors have had some false triggering of some BRK smokes. They were interconnected. The hole house went kept going off.
