Smoke/CO/Propane detectors

We are wiring a house that is fueled by propane gas. This is a first for me. There probably isn't a propane detector that interconnects with the smoke detectors? All I can find are propane detectors that plug in. Also, where are you guys required to put smoke detectors? Aside from the bedrooms, hall outside the bed, and living areas. Utility room? Unfinished basement? This house has 3 rooms that are unfinished basement/storage areas and it seems silly to locate smoke detectors in all of them.

These are all building code issues. A trip to your local building department is in order.

I know in my area CO/smoke detectors are required in the hallways outside of bedrooms, smoke detectors inside of bedrooms, and I have never heard of a propane detector.
