a customer wants me to install a smoke dectector in a bathroom of a rental house (besides the usual bedrooms, each floor, etc). Have you ever done this ? Is humidity an issue ? Thanks.

How long does he think it will last before someone rips it out? Airlines put them in their rest rooms so that no one lights in there. Thing is - no one showers in there. So, I'm guessing that he is trying to maintain a smoke-free environment so that he can re-rent in the future. Even an occasional cigarette or cigar will leave a long lasting smell in the room. The clean-up is a problem and an expense. Hope you find a solution.
