Anyone have a guideline for quoting SFD testing in a hospital? I'm looking at about 200 of them and they are controlled by relays and the open and closed side is monitored with a module. I know they will still have to be visually inspected for open close and other items I just wanted to provide that information. A containment unit will have to be used in many if not all areas.

Any help would be appreciated.

That may require third party testing & certification and or/ the presence of any AHJ which could be local fire marshal, local mechanical inspector, and/ or a state agency having jurisdiction.

From NFPA 72 Table 14.4.2.2 Emergency control functions (i.e., fan control, smoke damper operation, elevator recall, elevator power shutdown, door holder release, shutter release, door unlocking, etc.) shall be tested by operating or simulating alarm signals. Testing frequency for emergency control functions shall be the same as the frequency required for the initiating device that activates the emergency control function.

I've found that depending on the location of the damper and the skill of the testing folks, it could be 1-2 hours per damper (test / document only, not fix problems).
