Smoke Purge

How does smoke purge relate to the electrical and fire alarm portion. My partial understanding is the fans exhaust the smoke out and dampers open or close(???). What is needed to be figured electrically and on the fire alarm side(control modules??)

Depends on where this application is. We had a small indoor mall where if the fire was in the mall proper the mall exhausted and the suites went positive and if the fire was in one of the suites it was the oppisite.

A big ticket item to be sure is picked up, is that if it is code required smoke control, that the control panel be listed as approved for smoke control. Many times it costs more than a regular fire alarm or building management control panel.
