I have used Frost King products on residential jobs with great success for many years. I have some that are still working for over 25 years. Just follow the installation directions and use the automatic controller so that you never need to remember to turn them on or off.
Working on a job now installing an ice melt system to prevent the guitters and downspouts on a commercial building.
Use 10-12 watts/ft cable for up too 6" gutters (or double wrap) and get good controllers. Very simple electrical it's the cable install that takes the time.
