I am surprised at how much snow we are getting today. I went out earlier to wire a friends kitchen and when I was driving home, the roads were in tough shape. I saw and heard on the radio lots of accidents. They say we will have about 12 to 18 inches when this is finished. WELCOME TO WINTER!!! :D

Whats the weather like by you today?

Re: Snow Use

Well, Pierre, I have to tell you it's getting a little windy and chilly today. Temp has dropped to about 66 (brrrr). But I got in 2 sets of tennis this morning, so all is well.

Actually, i miss the snow. I used to love to set up a skid and see if I could drive out of it.

Karl (wintering in Naples).

Re: Snow Use

I'm feeling so bad for you Karl ;) it was 24F when I went out at 9 AM

Pierre We have the same thing you are getting here in Eastern MA.

I woke up to 10" fired up the snow blower and dug out, now it looks now like I never did it.

Took the kids to the company kids Xmas party at 9AM, gotta love a 4 wheel drive suburban with winter tires, drives through the plow mounds with out getting squirrelly.

And Karl I did take it out for some fun with out the family on board. Tomorrow morning I will be hitting some POCO trails to really test it out.

Re: Snow Use

Hey Karl, while Bob and I wait for our first big storm of the season to swirl to an end, I am wondering - does your Gauss meter work better in the warm weather? :D Is that why you moved to the warmer sunnier clime?
Actually I love the 4 seasons and wouldn't move from here. But you can ask me the same question in march - if it is still snowing and cold then I might be singing a different toon.

Re: Snow Use

Two and a half feet and still coming down in the hills 20 miles east of Albany...

Took two shoveling expeditions before I was able to approach my car. It will take another two or three before its fully uncovered. The slate roof hasn't decided to dump its load yet, cleaning up that mess will be another trip...

This is like last years christmas and new year storms all rolled into one.

Re: Snow Use

I just came in from snow blowing my place for the third time about 8" each time.

This morning I did the neighbors (driveways) on both sides of my place.

That gave the blower a work out as they had not been done at all and the snowplow pile at the end of the driveways was 3' to 4' of heavy stuff.

But the neighbors are happy and I will probably get beer from one :)

Your ;) storm arrived here -

- early this morning, and there is 8 inches down already.
If it's still snowing in Albany, it must be a BIG one. Moved my truck out to the end of the driveway in case of emergency.

Re: Snow Use

What I want to know is where is all this global warming the tree huggers whine about. :p

We could use some right about now...
