So now it's 2017 and the same question is out there, but the codes seem to be less clear rather than more clear. NEC 2017 has no mention that I can find and OSHA 1910.305A(3) has been stripped out of the code book. So what is the deal!

Cable Tray Barriers and Article 392.9
This question is in regards to NEC article 392.9 sections A and B. If power, control, and signal cables are routed in a single cable tray, but are separated by continuous barriers into three sections (power/control/signal) can the cable tray be treated like three separate support systems? Therefore, the power section would be sized by 392.9 (A) and the control and signal sections would be sized by 392.9 (B). Or does the cable tray need to be sized by 392.9 (A) Any Mixture of Cables, since power/control/signal are in one cable tray? Is there a section in the NEC that states that by installing a barrier in a cable tray you have effectively created two cable trays.
