soffit run

I need to run wire in soffit on a appartment building.What are the rules for this?I only need to go 35 feet for a sensor light.

You can run a cable through a soffit to feed your sensor light. If the soffit is accessible than the cable will need to be supported and secured. If it is fished through the hollow spaces of the soffit than securing it isn't required.
