My question is about backfeeding a transformer. This is a 480 delta grounded system. The transformer will be a 480 delta too a 480/277 Y 4 wire. I havent ran across this situation yet. I just don't understand how this can backfeed without blowing anything up! please help me understand. The engineer said it will be fine but wont explain. Talked to another engineer and he said he wouldn't be caught even near it. Seeing that I am the one turning it on I just want to be sure. Any input or insight would be helpful.
Thanks

As long as the X0 terminal is not connected to anything (i.e. it is left floating), the output will be 480V 3PH 3W, and there will be no problem.
