I ran across an internet website selling a new product called a Solar Generator. Check it out. The way the site lays out the hype of power source that charges two deep cycle marine batteries from a 75 w solar panel, has you up and running for all sorts of house circuits in an instant.

Check out the video offering by Bill and Dave in their garage presentation at their website http://mysolarbackup.com. Would you trust these guys? Dang, my watch battery just went dead. Gotta go buy one of these portable units.

I wonder if anyone here is interested?

Actually I don't think they are overselling it much at all compared to some advertisements.

They provide some pretty realistic run times for a variety of equipment.

They tell you straight out that this set up on battery alone may only run a microwave 12 min. or a 1/2 HP sump pump 1 hour.

I guess I am being a little too hard on the presentation. The single panel will have a long recovery charge time at 75w on a clear day. So for limited emergencies out in the sticks, it is better than a gas gen out of fuel. I sure wouldn't expect much for running a Skill saw on the 1800 model for long though. rbj

If I don?t hear from my friends in the patriot movement right away, I?ll be forced to let the general public have the units I set aside for you. I?m going to wait exactly one month before releasing any Solar Generators to outsiders. Please understand how urgent this is. Because of the meltdown, I believe my entire stock will vanish in just a few days. I have no guarantee of getting any more of these units when a crisis hits. Even now? they?re scarce. People are starting to become afraid and aware.

Yeah, right.

My bet is he wants to sell as many as possible for 1500 dollars before someone starts selling the same thing for $499.
