Solar Installation

I am running a DC circuit from a Solar Array through a roof member and inside of an attic. Article 690.31 states that the wire shall be run in metalic raceways. I checked with the inspector and he is allowing me to use MC cable. Do any of you see anything wrong with this or do you feel it should be installed in EMT or the like?

Are you entering into a service head?

look at the definition of raceway or enclosure, IMO MC cable does not comply

This changes in the 2008 NEC, I believe MC and other are permitted to penetrate, so don't kick a gift horse. Local amendments can overrule NEC anyway.
