The NEC article 690.8(B)(1) states as follows
The circuit conductors and overcurrent devices shall be sized to carry not less than 125% of the maximum current as calculated in section 690.8(a). The rating and setting of overcurrent devices shall be permitted in accordance with 240.4(B) and (C)
Exception: Circuit containg an assembly , together with its overcurrent devices, that is listed for continous operation at 100% of its rating shall be permitted to be utilized at 100 percent of its rating.
Question:
We have a solar inverter rated 1.65MVA at 480 volt 3 phase maximum output and we have this unit connected to a switchboard-mounted bolted pressure switch fully rated(100% rated) for 2000A with a fuse for 2000A. Are we meeting the NEC code?
Thank you
