Solar PV components

I'm just beginning to wade into the murky waters of solar pv. I would like to build a freestanding utility interactive 7.5kva system on my property to experiment with. (I am a licensed EC)

Anyone know where I can find good panels/components @ reasonable $$$. The retail market for this stuff seems like a loosing proposition.

I would approach manufacturers on the basis that you want to set up a system to develop that aspect of your business.

You want to set up a system development and demonstration unit so you can sell systems to people who want that sort of thing.

You should be able to get prices close to what they charge distributors.

There is a power conversion company in British Columbia http://www.xantrex.com/ that seems to have a good reputation and a broad range of products. I installed a water treatment system where their equipment was used at a remote site and the people were quite happy with it.

The last local IAEI meeting had a guy that specializes in just that type of system. his web site is www.keypowerservices.com

He has a link on a magazine article that breaks down all of the components for one of his installations.
