I don't do much commercial and the ones that I have done some work on they always use solid. When I was in industial we never used solid. Is there a reason why solid is used in commercial.

Stranded MC is easier to pull.
Pushes through pipe pretty good too.
What are the price differences between say a 12/2 solid vs stranded?

Copper self anneals,IE gets harder as it ages. Stranded is easier to pull in and out.
I think solid conductor wire should be outlawed, I just deleted a 3 paragraph rant and will spare you my overly opinionated opinion, but man do I hate that stuff. Does anyone remember that we decided on AC over DC like 150 years ago? Ever hear of skin effect? Ever... ... ok I'll shut up.
As far as MC, I never knew they made solid conductor until I bought a roll on accident at the local big-box. Now I always specify at the counter, and dbl chk at the big-box.
BTW, does anyone make stranded NM?

I had not heard of stranded MC until about three years ago, and I've never seen nor used it, and especially never seen it at a big-box.As far as MC, I never knew they made solid conductor until I bought a roll on accident at the local big-box.
