Is there any difference in which can withstand more amperage?

Solid Vs. Stranded

No solid and stranded allow the same, only temp. rating makes a difference. Look at table 310.16 there is no mention about solid or stranded.

Stranded is easier to pull, while solid is easier to push.

I like solid for screws and stranded for pressure-plates.
