"Mastic" is what they called the tar-like substance we used to seal roof flashings around service entrances and such. Not sure it is still on the market under that name.

Somastic is a brand name of an asphalt mastic coating for pipes, used to protect it from corrosion. In days gone by it often included asbestos, so be careful doing any old work.
