I wasn't far off in my "tongue and cheek" title of a thread a while back titled "AFCI Everything". I say that because of one of the proposals concerning AFCI, which thankfully, was rejected.
It was made by NEMA, but I'll let you read the article for yourselves.
I still say more proof/testing should be done before adding to the AFCI requirements.
Seems someone is still convincing the code making panels that AFCIs are doing such a good job that more is needed, even though I have seen no proof.
Things like them not detecting a "glowing connection" makes me wonder if they even do half of what they claim.:rant:
