Where can I find the most info on SC Journeyman exam preparation? I would appreciate any direction to some good literature to help me refresh on key points for the current exam.

Im a practicing electrician for 15 years, and on site supervisor for close to 8, without my journeyman card. I took a correspondence corse about 7, years ago and like a Idiot i did not go straight and take my test while most of the literature was fresh on my mind etc. I sure as hell do not use most of the material i recall studying/learning there-in on a daily basis. It would be a disaster if i walked in and took that bad boy right now.

Some of the GC's in my area, as well as inspectors offices in surrounding areas are requiring someone in my position to have the journeyman liscencse. So needless to say its time to get off my butt and finish what I started & I would greatly appreciate any help.

I have took the exam several times, the references they use to create the exam are:
Alternating Current Fundamentals, sixth edition WWW.delmarlearning.com Mike Holts Illustrated Guide to Basic Electrical Theory second edition WWW.necode.com

And they list a toll free Number to obtain exam references 877-624-2562

The best thing to do is get very familiar with looking things up in the code book because the questions aren't what most people would use on a regular basis. Good Luck it is a very tough test.

In case you didn't already know, SC is on the 2002 Code still.

I see that the test is given by PSI. The last PSI test I took was computer based. Don't know if this one is or not.

And since you are in the upstate of SC then i assume you will be testing in greenville (whatley center)? Well, if you use reading glasses bring several pairs, it's not a very good environment for a test. it is a very old, run down building, with a busy street by the window, a playground, and sparse lighting (thats why i say bring several pairs! or maybe your own light?). it is very hard to keep your attention on what you are doing. You will be taking the test with other people that are taking the "other" test's like plumbing and gas. thats not such a big deal unless like the last time i had someone taking a different test behind me and he could either not see or read and he had an assistant reading the question and multi choice questions to him......
